Anesthesia Services at INOVA Fair Oaks Hospital Garners Highest Percentage in the Nation for Surgeon Satisfaction

Fairfax, Va., May 21, 2013 – FOAA Anesthesia Services (FOAA) has been recognized as the Top Performer in a nationwide survey of medical staff conducted by Professional Research Consultants.  The Top Performer designation was given to FOAA anesthesiologists at INOVA Fair Oaks Hospital.  For the sixth year in a row FOAA was named a recipient of the 5-Star PRC National Award for Excellence in Anesthesia Services.  Also receiving the 5-Star award were the FOAA teams at INOVA Mount Vernon and INOVA Alexandria Hospitals. FOAA is also the exclusive provider of anesthesia services at Northern Virginia Surgery Center which claimed the 5-Star Award for patient satisfaction.

The 5-Star Award designation is given annually to hospital anesthesia departments that score in the top ten percent of PRC’s national medical staff perception database for the prior year. The study specifically measures communication with physicians, level of competence, attention to patients during operative procedures, availability for pre-op assessment and overall excellence. The Top Performer Award is given to the anesthesia department that scores highest overall when compared with 400 hospitals across the country.
