FOAA Named National 5-Star Award Recipient in Latest PRC Study

FAIRFAX, Va., May 3, 2011 – FOAA Anesthesia Services (FOAA) was again named a recipient of the 2011 PRC National Award for Excellence in Anesthesia Services for three of its hospital anesthesia departments.   FOAA, the exclusive anesthesia services provider at Inova Fair Oaks, Inova Alexandria and Inova Mount Vernon Hospitals, claimed the distinction as surveyed by Professional Research Consultants (PRC).   

            FOAA anesthesia staff at Inova Fair Oaks and Mount Vernon Hospitals won their third consecutive 5-Star Excellence Awards while the anesthesia staff at Inova Alexandria Hospital rose to claim its first 5-Star Excellence Award from PRC’s medical staff perception research of 376 healthcare facilities nationwide. The designation is given annually to hospital anesthesia departments that score in the top ten percent of PRC’s national medical staff perception database for the prior year.  The study specifically measures communication with physicians, level of competence, attention to patients during operative procedures, availability for pre-op assessment and overall excellence.
